Presentation of the Golden Diplomas to the Class of 1976

As a memento of their wonderful time as students in Clausthal and to honor our graduates who earned their diplomas (or their first degree for higher education teaching) at our university 50 years ago, the Executive Board of Clausthal University of Technology has been presenting the golden diplomas to our alumni annually since 2012 during a ceremony.

The next “Gold Diploma” ceremony will take place

on October 8, 2026

, in the Aula Academica

(We kindly ask you to RSVP and provide your address details for the 2026 ceremony as soon as possible so that we can send you an invitation.)


We cordially invite the graduates of the class of 1976 to attend.

The academic ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. (sharp). Doors open at 10:30 a.m. 

Following the ceremony and a light meal together, there may be an opportunity to tour selected departments.

On the evening before the ceremony, an informal social gathering will take place in Clausthal starting at 7:30 p.m. Photos or mementos from your student days are very welcome at this event. You have certainly changed a bit in appearance since leaving the university. Please bring a name tag to the pre-ceremony gathering, if you have one. It will make it easier to recognize each other quickly. 

We look forward to reuniting with our alumni, hearing exciting stories, and learning about diverse career paths that demonstrate the professional opportunities a degree from Clausthal University of Technology can offer.

The Alumni Office would appreciate receiving photos and anecdotes from your time as a student in the 1970s.

  • Since we unfortunately do not have the current contact information for our graduates from earlier years, we ask that you contact us and also inform your fellow students from your time at the university in advance so that we can send them an invitation as well. Thank you very much!
  • Guests, companions, or partners are warmly welcome.
  • We ask that you register in advance. Participation in the events at the TU is free of charge. Booking and payment for accommodations and meals at the pre-event gathering are the responsibility of the attendees.
